29 children and their parents enjoyed trying golf for the first time at an Activity day at Wyndley Leisure Centre in Sutton Coldfield on Thursday 22nd December.

As the golf season draws to a close it is time to start planning for next year. In July 2011 we ran the first Midlands Golf Week – a regional pilot scheme, which aimed to promote club-based activities. A big thank you to all of the clubs that took part in 2011, for their support in promoting events that helped attract new players to the game of golf. 83 clubs took part across five counties, attracting 1,143 participants

Walmley Golf Club and the Warwickshire County Golf Partnership joined forces to hold a Golf Taster day in the Gracechurch Shopping Centre in Sutton Coldfield on Saturday 29th October

Warwickshire Golf attended the Well being Day at Castle Bromwich Primary School on Wednesday 12th October to offer a chance for teachers and education professionals to try their hand at golf for the first time.

Angie Eadon has won the Gallacher Award from the Golf Foundation which is presented to "a volunteer who, as a direct result of his/her efforts, has made a significant impact in the development of grass roots junior golf". This was presented to Angie on May 25th at Wentworth by Colin Montgomerie.

RYDER CUP star and European Tour player Paul Broadhurst will officially unveil the latest improvements at a West Midlands golf course.He will be the first to tee off on the revamped 16th hole at Robin Hood Golf Club in Solihull next month.
