Warwickshire Union of Golf Clubs (WUGC)
The WUGC was founded in 1906 to promote, administer and encourage the development of and participation in the amateur game of golf within the geographic area of the county union.
The County Union currently comprises 51 golf clubs and comprises nearly 19,000 adults and junior male playing members of the affiliated clubs.
WUGC selects and organises teams with ages ranging from Under 14 to Senior, who compete against other counties off scratch. It also organises a variety of individual and inter-club competitions for the benefit of its affiliated members and clubs. These include the Amateur Championship and Scratch Team Championships to unrestricted handicap competitions within the County Membership Scheme.

Warwickshire Ladies County Golf Association (WLCGA)
The WLCGA was founded in 1900 to promote and encourage ladies golf at all levels in the county. There are currently 42 golf clubs in Warwickshire which are affiliated to WLCGA comprising nearly 3,000 adult and junior females.
WLCGA focuses on encouraging the best golfers at all clubs and of all ages to achieve their maximum potential. This includes regular coaching and squad training for first, second and junior teams, as well as a range of match fixtures against clubs, other counties and organisations.
The association also organises a range of individual and inter-club competitions for the benefit of its affiliated members and clubs This includes its county championships, gross and net trophy competitions, match-play events and a number of unrestricted handicap competitions.

Warwickshire Professional Golfers’ Association (WGPA)
The foundation of the WPGA dates back to pre-1939 and is open to all members of the Professional Golfers’ Association who either work or reside in Warwickshire. Its focus is in the delivery of tuition to golfers of all levels across the county and several members are involved in county coaching initiatives.
The association also runs a range of stroke play and match play championships as well as a series of Pro-Ams.

Aims

Introduce more people to the game regardless of age, gender, background, disability or ethnicity.

Sustain/increase the number of members of affiliated golf clubs within the Warwickshire area.

Undertake the training and support of volunteers required to implement a development plan.

Promote and implement standards of good practice in safeguarding children and equity.

Liaise closely with the Partnership member organisations.

Liaise closely with the English Golf Union (EGU), the English Women’s Golf Association (EWGA), the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and The Golf Foundation.

Support the development of golfing talent by working with the appropriate bodies.
Activities
Warwickshire Golf provides funding and resources to support the development of golf across the county. We also help golf clubs gain their GolfMark status, a national scheme which recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities, wwwgolfmark.org
Our development plan comprises three key elements, Grow, Sustain and Succeed focused on the promotion and development of golf in Warwickshire.
Grow: Warwickshire Golf is committed to supporting national initiatives which encourage more people into the game, particularly targeting under-represented groups to develop the game of golf within the county.
Our aim is to increase the number of people participating in golf by 3% by 31 August 2011

Work with the Golf Foundation to develop community links networks, school club links and specialist sports college networks within Warwickshire
Sustain: All golfers should be given the opportunity to continue their involvement in golf for as long as they wish. Warwickshire Golf will strive to encourage more people to become regular players through providing sustainable initiatives and programmes that will allow both new and existing golfers to stay within the game.
Our aim is the increase the number of active members of affiliated clubs by an average of 15 members per club by 31 August 2011

Excel: Warwickshire Golf is committed to support all golfers within Warwickshire who have the desire to improve their ability by offering support and guidance. Our aim is to ensure that talent in clubs is identified and developed at county level. We will also ensure that promising players who move or undertake higher education out of the area (e.g. USA based universities) are tracked and kept in touch with what is happening within the county.
